Where Those We Lost Meet Those Who Found Us

Please excuse the Human as she tries to improve this website. Unlike kitties she is all thumbs and has no idea what she is doing.

Ghost's Legacy's Current Focus

Ghost's Legacy is currently focusing on a partnership with the Bowdoinham Food Pantry to keep pet food and other pet supplies on the shelves of the Bowdoinham Food Pantry every week! Donations such as Dry Cat/Dog Food, Canned Cat/Dog Food and Cat Litter are always accepted. We even accept open bags of pet food as long as the food is still in good usable condition.
With Spring here, Summer fast approaching and the mild Winter we had the Ticks are already out in full force! Donations of Flea & Tick Medications such as Topical Drops or Collars for both Dogs and Cats are rare/non existent and would be hugely appreciated by Ghost's Legacy and everyone at the Bowdoinham Food Pantry!
You may drop off your donations at the Bowdoinham Food Pantry Wednesdays from 12pm-4pm, or at one of their drop box locations at the Bowdoinham Post Office, Bowdoinham Town Office or the Bowdoinham Country Store. You may also contact me, Amy Walden at Ghostslegacy@yahoo.com to arrange a pick up or if you have any questions regarding what pet items are accepted or needed.

If you would like to make a monetary donation to the Bowdoinham Food Pantry you may do so via the link below. If you wish for your donation to go into the Pantry's designated Pet Food Fund to purchase needed pet food/supplies you may write so in the notes section.
From Ghost's Legacy and everyone at the Bowdoinham Food Pantry, Than  Mew for your support!  We truly have the best community!

Ghost's Legacy is completely open and transparent in the fact that it DOES NOT have ANY OFFICIAL NON-PROFIT STATUS. Gaining official non-profit status is a lengthy and costly process. If Ghost's Legacy had the money that it would require to get an official non-profit status I could think of a million things that it could be better spent on to help pets in need in our community. For that reason I do not have any intent to try to gain any official non-profit status for Ghost's Legacy. Despite this Ghost's Legacy will always operate like a non-profit. All donations whether physical or monetary are GUARANTEED to go exactly where I am saying they will go. If you have a specific pet item you wish for a monetary donation to go towards Ghost's Legacy is more than happy to accommodate that as well. Ghost's Legacy ALWAYS wants to be very transparent about this and I welcome any questions you may have regarding this topic. You can always reach me at Ghostslegacy@yahoo.com.
Ghost's Legacy currently is run by just myself with my father helping out with the literal heavy lifting of pet food. Ghost's Legacy is small but we wish to be living proof that all it takes is one person to make a big difference in their community.
If you wish to make a monetary donation to an organization with official non-profit status Ghost's Legacy is honored to work with the Bowdoinham Food Pantry!

OPERATION SANTA PAWS! 2022

PET FOOD DRIVE FOR THE BOWDOINHAM FOOD PANTRY!

There is an URGENT need for pet food and supplies right now. Due to lack of food/supplies Dogwill, the pet food pantry out of Bath that serves our residents once a month at The Bowdoinham Food Pantry along with other towns, has had to cancel all deliveries for December and future deliveries are suspended until further notice.

My short term goal right now is to collect enough donations so that The Bowdoinham Food Pantry has enough pet food and supplies to hand out to our residents in need this month on the day that Dogwill normally would have come. That date is DECEMBER 21st! No donation is too small. Everything helps!

I am volunteering directly with The Bowdoinham Food Pantry on this to determine what food/supplies are needed most(dogs, cats, birds, small pets, etc) so that the pantry can distribute it to those in need. I have updated Ghost's Legacy's Amazon Wish List with general dog and cat food/supplies and will strive to keep it updated as the food pantry determines what is needed most. Please feel free to use it as a guideline when it comes to brands and sizes. ALL DONATIONS BOUGHT FROM THIS LIST ARE GUARANTEED TO GO TO PETS IN NEED EITHER VIA THE BOWDOINHAM FOOD PANTRY AND/OR DOGWILL! The amazing volunteers at the Bowdoinham Food Pantry and I will ensure nothing goes to waste!

If you wish to buy locally you can drop off pet food/supplies at any of the food pantry's drop box locations or at 8 Carding Machine Rd, Bowdoinham on the corner of Rt24. There is a grey and green bin to put donations in at that location that is all decked out for the holidays. You can't miss it!  Monetary donations left inside the bin at this location will specifically go into the Bowdoinham Food Pantry's Operation Santa Paws Fund to buy needed pet food/supplies.
If you have any questions or need someone to come pick up your donation please contact me at ghostslegacy@yahoo.com

Let's make this the best Christmas these pets have ever had!

Post Rd. Project!

There is a known colony of feral cats already in existence around the 1100ish range of Post Rd in Bowdoinham. Through the generosity of MidCoast Humane I have been granted enough slots so far to spay/neuter up to 20 Community Cats along this area of Post Rd. in Bowdoinham for FREE

If you or someone you know along the 800-1300ish area of Post Rd. is caring for any unfixed Community Cats or Barn Cats and may be interested in taking advantage of this opportunity please reach out to me at Ghostslegacy@yahoo.com for more info.

This project will be entirely volunteer based and you will not be expected to pay anything or be involved in any of the trapping/transport/post surgical care if you are unable or don't wish to.

**Please Note that cats are cats and trapping them can be tricky business. There is never a 100% guarantee that a cat will be trapped successfully.

BOO!

Oops sorry, didn’t mean to scare you,
that’s my name you see. I’m Boo!

Me and my brothers, Casper and Spooks are all TNR Ferals, or at least that’s what the Human says. She caught us all when we were older kittens and brought us in to be fixed with our mom. While we were there the vet cut a tiny bit of our left ear off so everyone would know we were fixed. But I haven’t thought about any of that in a long time. Let me tell you a bit more about myself.

I’m a happy healthy 3 year old cat who was born right here in Bowdoinham, Maine. The Human says I’m a handsome young man that all the ladies love. I hope they’re okay loving me from a distance cause I don’t like many humans getting close to me. I guess that’s what the Human means when she refers to me and my brothers as feral. We’re not your cuddly house cats and we don’t want to be. I like to spend almost all my time outside, even in the winters. The Human provides food, fresh water, and nice shelters to curl up in and stay warm and dry. My brothers and I try to repay her for this kindness. How?

Well I’m a masterful hunter if I do say so myself. I keep all those pesky rodents from causing her any problems. I also try to help the neighbors out with their rodent problems too! Plus the Human says that since my brothers and I are all fixed, the mouse and rat problem won’t turn into a cat problem. Whatever that means.

I’m not a huge fan of other cats coming into my territory but I’m not big on fighting either. My brothers and I prefer to work together to herd those other cats along.

I try not to cause any problems but I am still a cat out doing cat stuff. I try to do my part to help this community out cause I live here too. I guess that’s why a lot of people are starting to call us Community Cats instead! We’re a part of your community and we’re trying really hard to be good neighbors.
